EXTRAORDINARY PROFESSORSHIP OF DIACONATE AT THE PROTESTANT THEOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY (PThU)

The extraordinary professorship of Diaconate at the Protestant Theological University has been established for a period of five years, starting from the 1st of September 2007. Stichting Rotterdam finances this professorship and has additionally raised funds for employment of a PhD-student. The professorship i.e. the appointment of dr. Herman Noordegraaf intends to promote a scientific approach to the diaconate by churches. The foundation expects this chair to stimulate practical diaconal work.

On 25th April 2008 Professor Noordegraaf held his inaugural lecture in Leiden. (Title of the oratio: "Voor wie nemen wij de hoed af? Enige gedachten over diaconiewetenschap")
