Criteria for support

We use the following criteria to assess requests:

The project should

  • in some way have a Protestant or ecumenical character or context
  • function in the field of church social welfare, mission, pastoral care or culture
  • be able to count on support from churches or church institutions
  • be likely to become financially independent (from our foundation) after the initial period
  • be supported by the work of volunteers
  • stimulate initiatives and community spirit

Sending in your request

A request for financial support should be submitted in writing and should contain the following information:

  • A short description of the activity
  • A budget of expenses and income stating
    • what contribution comes from the community and what support comes from external sources
    • If possible, a recent annual financial report
    • An overview of other funds or organizations from which support has been requested

The application process

After receipt of your request:

  • It will take at least 4 months before a decision is reached due to the infrequency of the board meetings
  • The process may take longer if we need more information from you
  • There is no point in calling us (we do not run an office)
  • You will receive a reply in which the grounds for our decision is specified

Forms of support

We work with the following forms of support:

  • Donations
  • Conditional loans
  • Conditional guarantees

If support is granted, we also specify which conditions apply and the method of payment involved.
